Coachmen RV has launched the American Spirit, a new line of travel trailers designed specifically for the U.S. market. This introduction comes ahead of Memorial Day and builds on the foundation established by the company’s Canadian-focused Northern Spirit coach. General Manager Andy Brock confirmed that the Northern Spirit will continue to serve Canadian customers, who have developed a strong loyalty to the brand.
The American Spirit retains the core elements that customers are familiar with while adapting to the culture and lifestyle of modern American RV travelers. Brock emphasized the importance of connecting with U.S. campers through branding and visual identity that resonate locally.
The approach is aimed at fostering a similar recognition and loyalty among American consumers as observed with the Northern Spirit in Canada.
The new travel trailers will feature the same layouts and construction materials as their Canadian counterpart. Coachmen RV has refined the American Spirit’s branding, exterior styling, and market positioning to better serve North American customers. A spokesperson noted that the redesigned exterior symbolizes freedom and adventure while maintaining the qualities that made the Northern Spirit successful.
Some highlighted features of the American Spirit include a “skyview” front cap, fishing pole storage, built-in pet amenities, motion-activated floor lighting, and large panoramic windows. The coaches will be constructed using Alumicage and Azdel composite walls.
Both the American and Northern Spirit lines will remain accessible on the manufacturer’s digital platforms, enabling dealers to distinguish between the two regional offerings.
According to Brock, the goal was to keep what made the Northern Spirit successful while adapting it for the U.S. market in a way that resonates with American campers. He described the American Spirit as promoting a simple, fulfilling lifestyle on the road with features aimed at making family camping experiences easier and more enjoyable.
