According to the latest survey by the RV Industry Association (RVIA), RV shipments in the United States for May 2026 reached a total of 22,900 units. This figure marks an 18.7 percent decrease from the 28,150 units shipped in May 2025.

The breakdown of shipments reveals that towable RVs accounted for the majority, with 19,679 units shipped, reflecting a 21.3 percent decline compared to May 2025. In contrast, motorized RVs experienced a slight increase in shipments, totaling 3,221 units, which represents a 2.2 percent rise from the previous year.

Additionally, park RVs saw improvements, with 383 wholesale shipments reported, indicating an 8.5 percent increase compared to May 2025. Despite some positive trends in specific categories, the overall picture remains challenging for the RV industry.

Year-to-date figures for 2026 show that a total of 138,160 RVs have been shipped from January to May, which is a 14.4 percent decrease from the 161,373 units recorded in the same period last year. This ongoing decline raises concerns about market demand and the industry's recovery from previous downturns.

These insights provide valuable context for RV owners, travelers, and industry professionals monitoring market trends and preparing for future shifts in consumer interest.
