Mercedes-Benz has introduced an innovative modular kit that allows the Sprinter van to be transformed into a motorhome in less than an hour with just two people. This system is designed for owners who want to maximize the versatility of their vehicle, enabling the conversion without cuts or electrical modifications.
The modules of the kit are easily installed from the rear and can be removed when there's a need to revert the vehicle back to its work purposes. During the presentation, Mercedes-Benz representatives explained that this concept complements the traditional motorhome market: "We are launching a concept that comes to complement the traditional motorhome market you're already familiar with.
It’s a kit that allows you to convert your van, which you use from Monday to Friday for work, into a motorhome with a significant advantage: it's removable."
This modular system is particularly useful for those who utilize the Sprinter for work activities, yet also wish to enjoy it during weekends or on vacation. Among the equipment included in the kit are a water tank, a cooking stove, a shower, and a water heater, among other items.
Additionally, the kit offers a wide range of customizable options, including a version that may include a washing machine, further enhancing comfort during travels. It is important to note, however, that the modules are imported from China and are not a domestic development.
The motorhome and camper sector has seen growth in Argentina in recent years, driven by demand for outdoor getaways. With this removable solution, Mercedes-Benz hopes to attract an audience that previously did not consider the Sprinter as an option for family tourism, eliminating the need for costly and permanent modifications. The launch of this novel equipment is scheduled for around August or September.
