Normacab, a young brand from Normandy, has recently unveiled a removable pick-up cell made entirely of aluminum. Designed to appeal to adventurers seeking freedom, this product stands out with its innovative design inspired by aerospace.
Jean-Yves Perrot, the driving force behind this project, set out to create a cell that met his expectations in terms of design and functionality after finding only models that seemed too much like traditional campervans and were too expensive.
The prototype was developed at the Atelier Normand in Carpiquet. Locally produced, it is built on a tubular aluminum structure, riveted for added durability. Perrot founded his company in January 2024, aiming to offer a product that is entirely from Normandy.
The cell can accommodate up to four people and does not include a bathroom but does feature foldable dry toilets. Its kitchen is equipped with everything necessary for self-sufficient stays. Designed for double cab pick-ups, this model can be quickly removed, offering a functional micro-living space once on the ground.
Normacab positions itself in the market as a design alternative for long voyage enthusiasts, although it clarifies that its cell is not intended for extreme terrains.
