Ramona and Holger Kleinkopf from Ötigheim have made quite an impression with their self-built Citroën Jumper at the DIY Builder Camp 2025. Their goal was to create a practical and comfortable van that features a large bed and a bathroom. The idea to convert a van came about in January 2022, and just four months later they found the right vehicle.

Their Jumper, built in 2021, measures 6.36 meters, has a power output of 165 HP, and a permissible total weight of 4.7 tons. Ramona and Holger have already traveled several kilometers across Europe, spending over 100 days a year on the road. Alongside their travels, Holger is also professionally active while on the go, which he manages easily with an LTE router and Starlink.

They acquired the necessary knowledge about electrical systems, furniture construction, and heating through workshops with Busbastler. For their layout design, they opted for a pull-out bed at the rear and a face-to-face seating area. The kitchen and wet cell are arranged to utilize the space effectively, with adjustable furniture using a sliding mechanism.

To save weight and ensure stability, they chose to use an aluminum connection system for the furniture construction. For the wet cell, they selected a combination of aluminum-plastic panels and a self-cleaning waterproof shower partition. Their passion for traveling takes the couple to a new, unexplored country each year, with the ultimate goal of traveling across all of Europe.

The DIY Builder Camp takes place on the first weekend of October in Bad Waldsee at the Erwin Hymer Museum, where the DIY community gathers to share experiences and award the builders of the year.
