Serbia to Greece by motorhome via North Macedonia

This corridor crosses non-EU and EU/Schengen borders, so documents are a route dependency rather than a last-minute glovebox check.

Do this: Build the border file before leaving Serbia: passport or ID, licence, registration, insurance or green-card proof, rental permission and temporary-import evidence.

The southbound motorway line stacks three toll models: Serbian category pricing, North Macedonian toll plazas and Greek operator-specific classes.

Do this: Price Serbia, North Macedonia and Greece separately, keep toll receipts in North Macedonia, and confirm vehicle category when the camper is high, heavy or towing.

The main A1/E75 line is straightforward, but small mountain diversions can turn winter equipment and chain rules into the day's binding constraint.

Do this: Before shoulder-season or winter departures, check tyre, chain and current road-condition requirements before Kopaonik, Mavrovo, Galicica, Pelister or northern Greek mountain detours.

Lake shores, national parks, city car parks and beach approaches are not default motorhome overnight sites on this corridor.

Do this: Anchor nights to campsites, authorised auto-camps or explicit private permission around Belgrade/Nis, Skopje, Ohrid/Prespa and Thessaloniki.

Fuel on the main corridor is manageable, but camper-specific water, dump and electrical services become thinner near lake, park and border detours.

Do this: Reset water, waste, groceries, LPG and cash/card options before leaving the main cities, then keep a backup stop before Ohrid, Prespa or the Greek border.

The corridor's largest practical access risk is not a national LEZ sticker, but tight city streets, lake promenades, monastery approaches and local parking controls.

Do this: Use outside-centre parking or campsite transfers for Belgrade, Nis, Skopje, Ohrid old-town streets and Thessaloniki instead of following car sat-nav shortcuts.
