Eura Mobil has issued a recall for its Xtura motorhome over concerns regarding a possible defect in cable sizing that may lead to overheating and, in the worst-case scenario, a fire. This action follows a safety warning from the EU's product alert service, which indicated that the 6 mm² cable cross-sections in the charging boosters might be inadequate to safely conduct fault currents.

Stian Ringstad from Arva Opsahl AS informed Bobilverden.no that all owners of the Xtura motorhome in Norway should have received notification about the recall. Arva Opsahl AS acts as the agent for Eura Mobil in Norway, with individual dealers being the importers responsible for the vehicles.

The Eura Mobil Xtura had its world premiere at the Caravan Xpo in Hellerudsletta three years ago, and its sales in Norway have been limited since then. The recall highlights a significant safety issue for existing owners and underlines the importance of proper cable management in motorhome design.

All affected owners are advised to take the necessary actions as instructed in the recall notice to mitigate any potential fire hazards associated with their vehicles.
