Forest River employees recently volunteered their time at Camp Watcha-Wanna-Do located in Wolcottville, Indiana, as part of the company's ongoing partnership with the Care Camps Foundation. This initiative aims to support children who are surviving cancer and brain tumors by providing them with a dedicated summer camp experience.

During a two-day visit to the camp, Forest River volunteers engaged with campers, counselors, and staff, assisting with various camp activities. The company also contributed by sponsoring tie-dye shirts and bandanas for the campers, as well as providing a Surveyor 252RBLE travel trailer to serve as a retreat space for counselors and volunteers throughout the week.

Campers participated in a wide array of outdoor recreational activities, including zip-lining, horseback riding, boating, and archery. Other activities like arts and crafts, music, baking, dance, and tie-dye projects were also part of the program, ensuring that children enjoy a fulfilling camp experience tailored to their individual health requirements.

The Care Camps Foundation, which supports Camp Watcha-Wanna-Do, is a nonprofit organization tasked with funding medically supervised pediatric oncology camps across the U.S. and Canada.

It has successfully allowed children affected by cancer to attend camps at no cost to their families. Since 2018, Forest River has contributed over $1 million to the Care Camps Foundation, highlighting its commitment to this important cause.

Doug Gaeddert, President and CEO of Forest River, emphasized the significance of the mission and the positive impact of the camps on children and their families. He stated that these camps foster opportunities for outdoor exploration, friendship, and the creation of lasting memories.

Jason Hershberger, Forest River's General Manager and a Care Camps board member, reiterated the partnership's goal of providing meaningful experiences for children facing health challenges.

This partnership aligns with Forest River's emphasis on supporting camping, outdoor recreation, and family-centered experiences through its collaboration with the Care Camps Foundation.
