Kabe has announced an increase in the permissible towing capacity for their new TRAQ series of motorhomes, raising the limit to two tons. This enhancement addresses a common limitation faced by many RV owners who wish to carry more than just leisure equipment and bicycles. The new models are designed with features that include Kabe's distinctive aesthetics on the trailer.
The Kabe Novum TRAQ 750 LGB and Imperial TRAQ i830 models both support this new towing weight capacity. According to Kabe, the ability to offer towing weights of up to 2,000 kilograms is primarily due to the rear-wheel drive system employed in these models. This is particularly advantageous for owners who want to transport a horse trailer, boat trailer, or even a small car.
The manufacturer emphasizes that this increase in towing capacity opens up a range of new possibilities beyond what many RV owners have previously experienced. Kabe ensures that the higher towing weight does not compromise the payload capacity of the motorhome itself. The TRAQ models are developed with a focus on both transport capacity and comfort for longer journeys.
In the largest TRAQ models, the combination of rear-wheel drive and twin wheels enables a total permissible weight of seven tons for the combination of the RV and trailer. This allows for significant total weight without approaching the vehicle's technical limits, Kabe explains.
The TRAQ concept is marketed as an alternative for RV owners looking for greater freedom to transport additional vehicles or heavy recreational equipment on their travels. Furthermore, Kabe highlights that rear-wheel drive enhances driving characteristics when carrying heavy loads.
