A recent report has revealed that a new RV, priced at 2.75 million NOK, was fraught with defects. The buyers, a couple from Sunnmøre named Lise-Mari and Stian Rødli, purchased a 2023 model Hymer from Kroken Caravan in 2024. Within weeks, they discovered several issues with the vehicle, including engine problems.

Despite their efforts to return the vehicle, the couple ultimately lost their initial court case in Sunnmøre District Court, which ruled that the dealer had the right to attempt further repairs. A valuation report from March reveals that the nearly new RV had significant faults, receiving marks on 12 out of 13 major points during an inspection conducted by Viking Kontroll.

Technological consultant Benny Christensen at NAF expressed disbelief over the findings, questioning how a vehicle that appears new could exhibit such extensive problems. Reports suggest that the costly RV was likely a collection of parts assembled and sold as a new vehicle prior to the sale.

Liv Anette Borge, the CEO of Kroken Caravan, declined to provide specific details regarding the case but confirmed that a settlement has been reached with the buyers, and the RV has now been taken back by the dealership.
