Bill No. 005.00588.2025, proposing the establishment of rotating parking areas and support points for RV travelers in Curitiba, is currently in progress at the City Council. So far, the bill has passed the legal analysis and remains active while awaiting adjustments suggested by the Committee on Economy, Finance, and Oversight.
Authored by Councilman Serginho do Posto, the proposal recognizes RV travel as an activity of tourist, cultural, and economic importance. The bill aims to implement specific parking spaces for motorhomes, trailers, campers, and other recreational vehicles and establishes guidelines for the creation of support points with essential infrastructure such as water and electricity supply.
Initiated in August 2025, the bill's progression included examination by the Committee on Constitution and Justice (CCJ), where a technical opinion was initially requested from the Legal Department of the City Council. After receiving a favorable opinion in November 2025, the bill was forwarded to the Economy Committee, which in February 2026 approved the return of the matter to the author for adjustments.
These adjustments are necessary to define the obligations of the Executive Branch, including the creation and maintenance of specific parking spaces and the implementation of the necessary infrastructure. The legislative body notes that the proposal is "under analysis by the committees," and the last movement was the return to the author on June 30, 2026.
If the bill is approved, Curitiba could become one of the first Brazilian capitals to have specific legislation for RV travel, establishing norms for temporary parking and support points for itinerant tourism. However, the actual implementation of these structures will depend on regulations from the Executive Branch and the allocation of resources for execution.
